Mass Against HP is transforming into BDS Boston to continue building the BDS and Palestine solidarity movements in the Greater Boston area.

----------------------------------------------------------------

In May 2016, local organizers, responding to the call of the international BDS movement, joined together to launch Massachusetts Against Hewlett Packard (MAHP), a campaign to push the city of Cambridge to end its municipal contracts with Hewlett Packard until the company ended its complicity in Israeli violence against Palestinians, U.S. violence against immigrants, and mass incarceration.

Despite a multi-year effort, a community mobilization that swayed multiple Cambridge City councilors, and a near-victory, the campaign ultimately did not meet its goal. But in the process, MAHP forged new connections, activated new organizers, and built local awareness about systems of oppression and movements for liberation.

Now, we are continuing the fight.

On May 3, 2019, we will launch a new organization devoted to building the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in the greater Boston area:

BDS BOSTON

Join us at 7:00pm at the Friends Meeting House in Cambridge as we close the book on MAHP and launch our new group.

The event will include a brief summary of the MAHP campaign, an assessment of its eventual defeat, a presentation of testimonies supporters of the campaign had prepared for Cambridge City Council, an introduction to BDS Boston, and an interactive discussion in which all attendees will offer thoughts and ideas on how we, collectively, can move BDS forward in the Boston area. Food from Aceituna Grill will be served afterward!

All are welcome as we build this new organization in pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality for the Palestinian people.
