“What is Happening in Venezuela, and

Why Should It Matter to All of Us?”
with Rev. Mike Clark

3 PM – 4:30 PM

(No 11:00 AM Service) Rev. Clark will present a brief overview of recent 
events in Venezuela and place them in the context of 20 years of enmity 
between the US and the Bolivarian social and economic experiment. The 
outcome of the current struggle has implications for movements and 
nations everywhere that are seeking a more just world.

• Rev. Mike Clark is the Recovery Outreach Worker at the 
Belmont-Watertown United Methodist Church where he has worked for the 
last 17 years alongside those battling addiction. He has been a peace 
and social justice activist since 1965, working with William Sloane 
Coffin at the Riverside Church Disarmament Program and serving as 
Executive Director of Witness for Peace in Central America. He has been 
to Venezuela seven times since 2004 and twice was a guest on the late 
Hugo Chavez’ television program.
