This is an enthusiastic *reminder* to please join the e*ncuentro5 
*community, comrades and friends to commemorate, and celebrate “*African 
Heritage Influence and Resistance in the Americas¨* on *Saturday 
February 8^th at 7:pm. 9A Hamilton Pl. across from the Park St. Train 
station (green/red lines) and next to the Orpheum Theater*

Our joint participation will enrich the commemoration and celebration of 
a part of history and liberation warriors not discussed enough not 
popularly known. African heritage continues to influence diasporas 
globally including the Caribbean, the Americas and Europe. There were 
enslaved freedom fighters we are not familiar with because there is no 
mention of them (in typical textbooks). Indigenous and African Peoples 
formed alliances as they worked together, organizing rebellions and 
escapes. Let’s commemorate and celebrate them. Bring your stories, song, 
dance, poetry, spoken word. Share readings and quotes from those who 
inspired that antiracism and oppression activist commitment! We will 
also commemorate and celebrate Liberation*Warrior, Chuck Turner!*

encuentro5, camaradas y amistades para conmemorar y celebrar la 
“Influencias de la herencia y resistencia africana en las Américas” 
*sábado *

*8 de febrero a las 7: pm. 9A Hamilton Pl. frente a la estación de tren 
Park St. (líneas verde / roja) y al lado del teatro Orpheum*

Nuestra participación conjunta enriquecerá la conmemoración y 
celebración de una parte de la historia y los guerreros de liberación 
que no se discuten lo suficiente y que no se conocen popularmente. La 
herencia africana sigue influyendo en las diásporas a nivel mundial, 
incluido el Caribe, las Américas y Europa. Había guerreros esclavizados 
que lucharon por su libertad con los que no estamos familiarizados 
porque no hay mención de ellos (en los libros de texto típicos). Los 
pueblos indígenas y africanos formaron alianzas mientras trabajaban 
juntos, organizando rebeliones y escapes. ¡Conmemoremos y celebremos! 
Trae tus historias, canciones, bailes, poesías, palabras habladas. 
¡Comparta lecturas y citas de quienes inspiraron ese compromiso 
activista contra el racismo y opresión! ¡También conmemoraremos y 
celebraremos al Guerrero de la Liberación, Chuck Turner!
