For the last 9 days, undocumented immigrant leaders in Massachusetts 
have been camping out — rain or shine, day and night — in front of the 
state house to demand the legislature pass Licenses for All.

Let me back up and explain.

For nearly 2 years, Cosecha Massachusetts has been organizing directly 
affected undocumented communities across the state to fight for access 
to driver's licenses. Massachusetts is one of several states where 
Cosecha is leading Driving Without Fear campaigns, because not having 
access to driver's licenses is one of the most common ways undocumented 
immigrants end up detained by police and transferred to ICE.

The ability to drive without fear is always important for the 
undocumented community, but *during the pandemic it is particularly 
essential for immigrant workers to be able to travel without risking 
deportation — and their health.*

    Here’s what you need to know about what's happening in Massachusetts.

to mobilize their own community and push legislators to pass the 
Licenses for All bill.

And it’s working! In February, following Cosecha Massachusetts’s hunger 
strike, the Licenses for All bill was voted out of committee for the 
first time /ever/.

*Now, we are so close to taking a historic step in the fight for 
licenses for all but we need your support.*

For over a week, Cosecha Massachusetts has been camped out, literally, 
outside the state house, demanding that legislators pass Licenses for 
All NOW!

Through public pressure and sacrifice, we are showing the state of 
Massachusetts that driver’s licenses are essential for immigrant workers 
and families’ health, safety, and dignity.

Meanwhile, many of the legislators won't even stop and look at our 
demonstration on their way into work, or make a commitment to pass 
Licenses for All before the end of the session.

winning #LicensesForAll campaign. It took mobilizing the entire 
immigrant community and hundreds of allies to support, but we won and 
made history for half a million undocumented immigrants in New Jersey.
