SpeakOUT Fall Online Speaker Training

Become a Voice for Change!

Saturday, October 2, 9am-6pm

Suffolk University

Since 1972, SpeakOUT has brought committed and enthusiastic LGBTQ+ folks
together in empowering trainings to share our personal stories and to learn
how to engage with a variety of audiences. One-day speaker training
prepares volunteer speakers to conduct interactive speaking engagements in
schools, colleges, workplaces, faith communities, and more in Greater
Boston area & beyond.

Especially looking for interested people of color, transgender/ nonbinary
and younger speakers. The training will focus on valuable skills such as
setting the right tone, shaping and telling a story, overcoming fear,
working with your co-speaker, and answering difficult questions.
Participants will work in large groups as well as small breakout sessions
with experienced speakers to hone their story.

SpeakOUT is a community of speakers working to create a world free of
homo-bi-transphobia and other forms of prejudice by telling the truths of
our lives to various clients in the Boston area and beyond. Everyone has a
story to tell and sharing each other’s stories is part of the power of the
SpeakOUT training experience. Cost: $75 standard; $35 for seniors/students.
Inquire about sliding scale, group rates, and scholarships. For more
