*“Keeping President Kennedy’s Struggle for World Peace Alive” with Martin
Schotz*
It has been said, "When an idea seizes the masses it becomes a material
force." At American University on June 10, 1963 President Kennedy
attempted to educate the public concerning universal and eternal principles
necessary for achieving true world peace. How can we come together and
make President Kennedy's vision a force for peace.
*• Martin Schotz* is a retired physician living in Cummington,
Massachusetts. He is the author of *History Will Not Absolve US: Orwellian
Control, Public Denial, and the Murder of President Kennedy*. He is on the
Board of Directors of the Traprock Center for Peace and Justice and is a
member of the No Cold War Committee and the JFK Peace Speech Committee of
Massachusetts Peace Action.

and Mother” with Ann Sebba*
The life of Ethel Rosenberg, executed 70 years ago even though there was no
evidence against her, as the government knew. She was however a communist
and her husband was involved in spying. She was 37 and left two sons
orphans.

*“‘Shake Off Your Chains’: The Story Behind ‘Songs of Slavery &
Emancipation’” with Mat Callahan*
Join us for music and a discussion about newly rediscovered songs composed
by enslaved people explicitly calling for resistance to slavery. *After the
concert at noon, lunch will be served, followed by the 2023 CCB annual
meeting at 1 p.m.*
*• Mat Callahan* is a musician and author originally from San Francisco,
where he founded Komotion International. He is the author of Sex, Death &
the Angry Young Man; Testimony; and The Trouble with Music as well as the
editor of *Songs of Freedom: The James Connolly Songbook*. He currently
resides in Bern, Switzerland.

*Sunday, June 18th at 11 AM:*
*“Landmarks of Slavery and Freedom Perspectives of a Public Historian” with
Dr. Robert Bellinger*
A consideration of how Black history can impact and expand our
understanding of our collective past in America. This presentation will
focus on Massachusetts but will also consider the significance of
Juneteenth.
*• Robert Bellinger* has a BA in Psychology and Black Studies from Amherst
College, an Ed.M. from
Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Ph.D. in history from Boston
College. As an educator, he has taught at the pre-school, elementary
school, middle-school, high-school, and university levels. After a teaching
career of almost half a century. Dr. Bellinger is now an independent
public historian. Using history as a foundation and recognizing that people
and their cultures do not exist in isolation necessitates an approach that
is interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and comparative.
