Dear fellow Julian Assange supporters,

Our next Julian Assange rally will be Monday, June 10 in Harvard Sq, in
Cambridge, from 11:00 am to 12:30pm, near the main entrance to the subway.
If anyone will be coming from Jamaica Plain or going through it and might
be willing to give Anne Erde a ride, she would appreciate it. She's at
Anne.Erde at gmail.com.

Wasn't it great to get some good news, for once, on May 20, when the UK
High Court ruled that they would hear Assange's appeal on the grounds of
free expression and possible discrimination on the basis of nationality?
Now, let's hope things don't drag out indefinitely, awaiting a date and
then the hearing and then the decision.

I hope you've all been calling and writing Congress - the House to sign on
to House Res 934 and the Senate to do something to free Julian Assange.
(Congressional switchboard: 202-224-3121)

Julia Hansen went to an open meeting with Rep Ayanna Pressley today and
asked her to sign on to House Res 934 and she said that she thought she
had. Maybe that means that she will soon. Hopefully.

Since our last rally on May 20, Paula Iasella, Julia Hansen and others went
to Senator Warren's house on Saturday, May 25. She was there at the time,
though they didn't have any interaction with her. But she had a police
presence and, if nothing else, she would have heard from them that they
were there, but I'm guessing that she looked out the window and saw them.
Hopefully she gets our message. Paula made new signs linking Gaza and
Assange for the occasion.

Our national Assange Defense Committee organized a panel discussion of
reaction to the May 20 decision

ADC introduced Chip Gibbons, of Defending RIghts and Dissent, Marjorie
Cohn, past president of the National Lawyers Guild and Stephen Rohde, a
constitutional lawyer and past head of the ACLU of CA.

Tom Cerulli has been continuing his banner drops on the Chandler Road
Bridge in Andover on Fridays, 3-6. He welcomes company and help. You can
contact him at 603-933-1550,

Please keep up the pressure on our elected officials. Biden needs to hear
from us that keeping Assange in prison is not okay. The easiest way to
contact him is at WhiteHouse.gov/contact.

Hope to see many of you at Harvard Sq on Monday, June 10 from 11 to 12:30.
We'll be near the main subway entrance. Whether you can come or not,
please keep reaching out to our government. Julian is becoming more and
more frail as this ordeal drags on.
