<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">As the Writers Guild Strike enters its second month, public support for the writers has been overwhelming.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Television and feature film fans across the country have galvanized behind our cause, demanding that the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers gives us a fair deal so we can get back to work.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><B>The key issue in the negotiations is new media. Writers want fair compensation whenever and wherever their work is used, including Internet channels, downloads such as iTunes, webisodes and mobisodes shown on phones. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Talks broke down again when the AMPTP walked out of negotiations on December 7<SUP>th</SUP>.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The last time these writers went on strike was 1988, and that strike lasted 22 weeks.<o:p></o:p></B></FONT></FONT></P>
