antiwar and social justice movement in the Boston area in the 1970s and '80s:
union activism at the Unitrod factory and the General Dynamics shipyard; membership in the feminist New Harmony Sisterhood Band; traveling to Cuba; helping to build a
solar house on Mission Hill; participation in the Central America solidarity movement and helping build a health clinic in Esteli, Nicaragua.<span style=""> </span>It also describes her life in a New Age and progressive community in western North Carolina.
