<span style="font-style: italic;">Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have
killed 400 people and injured 1700 at last count. Israel is refusing
calls for a ceasefire and planning a ground invasion that would
inevitably leave thousands of civilians dead. Richard Falk UN
Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories called for an immediate end
to the attacks, saying, "Israel is committing a shocking series of
atrocities by using modern weaponry against a defenceless population." </span></font>
