Join the ANSWER Coalition on International Women's Day--this Sunday, March 8--to celebrate by honoring revolutionary women of the world.

The meeting will feature two short films depicting women in the fight against apartheid in South Africa and in Palestine. Please see below for brief descriptions:

You Have Struck a Rock!

This documentary introduces the women's resistance movement of South Africa against racist apartheid in the 1950s. Many courageous women are featured and tell stories of their contributions, whether at home, in the workplace or as activists. These stories are accompanied by historic images and South African music. The title itself is a great play on words--stemming from the ever-powerful quote, "You have touched a woman, you have struck a rock!"

Women in Struggle

This film gives a rare look into the lives of four female Palestinian ex-detainees. These heroic women share their brutal experiences of imprisonment in Israeli jails and the significant affect it has had on their present lives. The women featured were put into imprisonment for vastly different reasons, yet all came out with one common goal: to fight for and gain freedom for Palestine.

This event is a fundraiser for the upcoming "March on the Pentagon" on March 21st.

For more information: Call 857.334.5084 or email boston@ANSWERCoalition.org
