<p class="MsoNormal">HI,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> I return to the airwaves exactly 1 week
after the passing of
Howard Zinn.<span style=""> </span>If you haven’t heard
too much already, then please tune in, as I have tons of original
material on
the man,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Including a recording of his play “Marx in Soho”
at Tingle’s
Davis Sq. theater back in 2007.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style=""> </span>We’ll
hear a piece of that production (featuring Robert Weick).<span style="">
</span>After that performance, Zinn took
candid questions from the audience.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Other Zinn comments, some mixed with related music
will also
be aired.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">And this being the beginning of Black History
month, (and
seeing how Howard taught at Spellman College through crucial years of
the Civil
Rights struggle), we’ll take a perspective of some of that history from
those
who fought that good fight and the struggle for racial justice
throughout
history.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Including, but not limited to, a musical tribute
to Harriet
Tubman by the Underground Railway Theater, some unreleased Gil
Scott-Heron,
other music from some of our jazz and soul greats, and of course
comments from
Martin.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Also, another passing…<a
href="http://www.facebook.com/notes/david-rovics/alistair-hulett-has-died/277341767113">Alistair
Hulett has died</a>.<span style=""> </span>Scottish poet
and anarchist and good friend of David Rovics.<span style=""> </span>His
stage name was Attila the Stockbroker.<span style=""> </span>So I’ll
have to pay homage with some of
his work too.<span style=""> </span>Heck, maybe I should
start my own version of Radio Obits…but I think Belinda of Bubbles in
the Think
Tank already has that idea cornered.<span style="">
