the Middle East Children’s Alliance is a nonprofit organization working
for the rights and well-being of children in Palestine, Lebanon and
Iraq.<span style=""> </span>MECA sends shipments of aid, builds
playgrounds and supports projects that make life better for women and
children.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p>

style="font-size: 10pt;"><font face="Times New Roman">When MECA asked
the children in Bureij Refugee Camp in Gaza what they could do to help
them, they responded that what they wanted more than anything was to
have a <b style="">clean glass of water to drink at school</b>.<span
style=""> </span>Because of the Israeli occupation and the diversion
of water to the settlements in the West Bank and Israel, the water
table has been lowered to such an extent that the water in Gaza is
almost undrinkable and causes disease.<o:p></o:p></font></span></p>
