Bill Fletcher is former President of Trans Africa Forum and co-author of “Solidarity Divided: The Crisis of Organized Labor and a New Path to Social Justice”; he is a long time labor movement organizer, leader and intellectual. He is also a contributing editor to the Black Commentator.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0in">Mr. Jorge Guerrero Veloz: has a professional background on research and education, primarily focusing on Afro-Venezuelan culture and heritage. In 2002, he joined the Cultural Division of the Board of Education the State of Aragua. In 2005 he was appointed to the Presidential Commission for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination in Education. A published writer and columnist for several Venezuelan newspapers and magazines, in 2002 Mr. Guerrero became the Director of the Civil Rights Organization "AfroAragua". From 2003 to 2007 he served as National Coordinator for the Network of Afro-Venezuelan Organizations. Mr. Guerrero was appointed Consul General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in New Orleans in 2007.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0in">Dr. Modesto Ruiz Espinoza : Venezuelan Legislator; Member of the National Assembly; and President of the Sub-Committee for Legislation, Participation, Rights and Duties of Afro- Venezuelans . Mr. Ruiz holds Degrees in Social Communication, Municipal Planning and Public Management. He was elected Councilman in 1993, and in 1996 he became the Mayor of the Andres Bello Municipality. In 2006, he was member of the Committee for Citizen Participation and Co-writer of the Communal Council's Law. In the present, he is coordinating the drafting of the Bill Against Racial Discrimination and Other Related Rorms of Intolerance. Mr. Ruiz was part of the Presidential Delegation to the II Africa - South America Summit in 2009, member of the Parliamentarian Friendship Committees with the countries of Gambia, Angola, Namibia and Palestine.</p>
