<div>On Sept. 30 the Center for Marxist Education and the China Study Group will again commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the Chinese revolution and the founding of the People's Republic of China (Oct. 1, 1949). This was a great step forward for humanity and set the the basis of China's rising presence in the world today. Halabi will look at China from a global perspective and compare developments there to events in Cuba and the Soviet Union. These are critical historical issues for the Left. Discussion follows and light refreshments will be served.</div>
