AID WITH DIGNITY FOR HAITI

As of now, the US Congress has not released the $1.15 billion
pledged to Haiti. 1.7 million internally displaced people are
living under tarps they received nine months ago, braving the rain, heat, and frustration. Persisting exclusion of Haitians from the decision-making for now and for the future is leading to continued exploitation.

Join us for a meeting this Tuesday, October 19 at 6 pm to discuss strategies for a PROTEST to be held November 12 (exactly 10 months after the Haiti earthquake) to pressure our government to act responsibly. Camps in Port-au-Prince are protesting every 12th of the month; our action can draw attention to their demands.

November's protest and petition will demand the release of aid money, the provision of basic needs in camps, especially shelter, and Haitian inclusion at all levels.

Planning meeting Tuesday at 6, pm: FXB G-13 of the Harvard School of Public Health, 651 Huntington Ave. If you are interested in helping in other ways (website, outreach, ideas, logistics) please let us know! Creativity and any level of time commitment are welcome.

*Unity Ayiti is a recently-formed group of Boston residents working to
support self-determination and human rights for the Haitian people. We hope to raise public awareness about the structural
factors that have made Haiti vulnerable, to hold foreign governments
and the UN accountable for the policies undertaken towards Haiti, and
to support grassroots Haitian efforts and their inclusion in all levels
of earthquake response. We also hope to act as a connector for people
interested in Haiti to learn about meaningful ways to contribute and to
act in solidarity. http://www.unity-ayity.info/ *
