Wednesday, November 3rd!

The unelected Boston School Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, November 3rd. They intend to decide to close six Boston public schools. Hundreds of folks will be there to say, united: "Save Our Schools!" This is only the tip of the iceberg in a corporate agenda for education to privatize, union-bust, re-segregate and destroy education as we know it. Be at English High in Jamaica Plain at 144 McBride Street starting around 5pm. Take the Orange Line to Green Street T. This protest is organized by the Coalition for Equal Quality Education.
The last School Committee meeting saw a powerful uprising of 600 angry students, parents, teachers, staff and community members. We need to broaden and strengthen this movement, and we can stop these school closings! Socialist Alternative will be distributing our new statement and our new pamphlet about this struggle locally, nationally, and internationally.
