The threats, he argues, are more serious than acts of identity thefts and Wikileaks that we are familiar with.<br><br>Do that the laws and protocols that govern “real” world crime apply to digital crimes as well? How can this new world “disorder” be regulated? How can our government protect our vast computer networks from dedicated, brilliant hackers–like “Anonymous” who recently brought down the Sony website? Could such individual hackers attack our national security? Shut down our power grid? And, with all the vast power and resources of a nation state, could a rogue country—think North Korea or China—develop and implement successful digital warfare against the U.S. computer networks? Could there be a “Pearl Harbor-9/11"- like surprise attack on our military and financial networks in our future? How could we defend against such a threat?<br><br>John Brenner, a lawyer in the private Washington DC firm, Cooly, LLP, considered the most cutting edge technology-oriented firm in the country.
