Serenade (Into the Cupboard) is a fairy tale cabaret that unfolds silently from
gut-spilling tea party to a dark magical world where tea cups where tutus and
daemons appear as grotesque owls. The macabre puppet theater of Geppetta in
collaboration with the haunting experimental folk of Elliott Harvey (a stick
and a stone) creates a surreal environment where cathartic whimsy and magical
realism are birthed from the seemingly mundane.

 Geppetta is a
multimedia fabulist whose work has been described as “cryptic vaudevillian
surrealism”. Into her tediously crafted
puppets she breathes dark fables and fairy tales confronting themes of fear,
isolation, trauma, and the beauty of survival. Her performance, visual art, and
short film have been featured nationally most recently with the Heels on Wheels
Glitter Roadshow and at Frameline International LGBT Film Festival.
