The Pentagon loves drones because they are much cheaper than manned military aircraft, and because, since they are flown remotely, the flight crew is not in physical danger. But international controversy over the use of drones has been huge, including questions over the accuracy of their targeting (how often are innocent civilians inadvertently targeted?), their use as weapons of high-tech assassination against political targets, and even the question of the psychological impact, both on drone victims and on drone pilots, who may be no closer to the mayhem they cause than a computer screen half a world away.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt'>Rachel McNeill is an Occupier and an Iraq veteran, who has been active with both Occupy Boston's Free School University and the Veterans for Peace.
