Precious Knowledge documents Tucson High School’s students and teachers
at the front line of an epic civil rights battle: the banning of their
beloved Mexican American Studies Program. Mexican American youth in the
program had higher graduation & college matriculation rates, loved
learning their history and became leaders in their community. However in
2010, due to anti-immigrant sentiment in Arizona, Gov. Brewer and
Superintendent Horne pushed a ban of Ethnic Studies. The film follows
students and teachers and their community organizing to try to stop the
ban and reclaim their education. An inspiring story and a beautiful
film! To sneak peek at the trailer: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fvimeo.com%2F15062646&h=rAQGaQbFE&s=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow nofollow">http://vimeo.com/15062646</a><br> <br>
