We are the people. <o:p></o:p></p><p>The government tells us to be afraid. It spies and harasses and imprisons. It murders and tortures. <o:p></o:p></p><p>But we won’t be afraid. We know that our rights are like muscles, and if we do not flex them, we will lose them.<o:p></o:p></p><p>Whether your major concern is the climate or the wars, abortion rights or gun rights, know this: You will fail to achieve your aims if the government carries on entrenching this militarized police state, a surveillance state more capable and powerful than anything the East German Stasi ever could have dreamed of.<o:p></o:p></p><p>Courage is contagious. We must be brave now.<o:p></o:p></p><p><span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>Join us on July 4, 2013. Bring your crew. If your work concerns the climate, bring your banners and puppets to educate the city about climate change. If you are outraged about the drone bombings, bring fliers talking about those injustices. We will have banners and signs voicing opposition to the police state and the surveillance regime.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>Together we are powerful.
