*Intercultural Communication in the Workplace *
When we think about the creation of “community," we know instinctively
whether or not we matter to someone or to some group, we also know when we
feel like an outsider. Through personal reflection you'll begin to see the
connection between an individual’s sense of mattering in the workplace and
their workplace performance. Through an interactive exercise you will
become aware of the ways in which we each bring our own cultural lens to
our work - and how to avoid relying on stereotypes, inappropriate
evaluations, and quick judgments. Whether you have participated in
conversations about intercultural communication in the past or this is a
new way of thinking about relationships - you are encouraged to attend this
session. You will leave with a vocabulary that will help you continue this
important conversation and a better sense of how diversity, inclusion and
equity applies to your relationships with colleagues and your work.
