Massachusetts has launched an Energy Storage Initiative to help bring the benefits of energy storage to the Commonwealth and to make Massachusetts a national leader in the deployment of these innovative energy technologies. The Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and Clean Energy Center (CEC) released the State of Charge Study in 2016, which documented the benefits of energy storage for Massachusetts as well as the challenges in achieving the benefits. Customized Energy Solutions (CES), a nationally recognized consulting firm in the energy storage and broader energy space, was the lead consultant on the State of Charge Study and will present on the current status and outlook for the energy storage market in the Commonwealth and the country.

Speaker: Mike Berlinski, Director of Emerging Technologies, Customized Energy Solutions
Mike joined Customized Energy Solutions in 2014. Mike assists clients with market intelligence, analysis, and consulting on energy storage and emerging technologies. He has experience in bringing new energy storage projects online, including developing operating strategies, and has assisted with the operational and financial management of projects. Previously, Mike was Manager of Regulatory Affairs at a leading energy storage developer and was very active in promoting rules for energy storage. Prior to that, Mike held various energy consulting positions in the private and public sectors.

Mike holds an MS in Technology and Policy from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Wesleyan University.
