This Saturday, August 26, starting at 12 pm, join members of MISU* as they
stand up against union-busting by Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. The
Facebook event is here
<https://www.facebook.com/events/170969650115895/?acontext=%7B%22action_history%22%3A%22[%7B%5C%22surface%5C%22%3A%5C%22page%5C%22%2C%5C%22mechanism%5C%22%3A%5C%22page_upcoming_events_card%5C%22%2C%5C%22extra_data%5C%22%3A[]%7D]%22%2C%22has_source%22%3Atrue%7D>.
We will gather for an informational picket at 465 Huntington Ave in Boston,
close to the Ruggles T stop on the Orange Line, and the MFA T stop on the
Green Line. The picket will continue until 2 pm.

*Background*: Activists report increasing pressure from bosses at the MFA,
including unlawful retaliation for union activity. The latest worker
targeted by management is Carlos Olviedo, employed as a guard for 17+
years, who was fired for being just 2 minutes late due to unpredictable
delays on the T. The absurdly disproportionate termination of Carlos, a
union activist and parent to five children, is designed to intimidate all
the members of the union. Management has even callously denied Carlos'
unemployment benefits (you can donate to Carlos on this page
<https://www.gofundme.com/savecarlosoviedo>). To make the retaliation even
more obvious, the MFA has disciplined the union's President on flimsy
pretexts, and even taken unfair disciplinary action against other workers
who contacted OSHA** about asbestos hazards. MISU represents the most
diverse group of staff at the museum and has a proud and militant history.
Let's help them show museum bosses that Boston is a union town.

Come out and support MISU in the fight for justice at the Museum of Fine
Arts!
