7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Adams Shore Branch

Since the year 1500, no fewer than nine hundred species have become extinct. Are their stories being told? The recent animal extinctions include twenty-eight reptiles, thirty-four amphibians, sixty-three fish, sixty-three insects, ninety-two mammals, one hundred and sixty-six birds and more than three hundred mollusks. Who are these animals? Where did they live? What do we know of their biology and natural history?

Join poet and scientist Daniel Hudon for a celebration of some of these recently extinct animals. He will share from his recently published book on the subject and may even share some videos he created. This is a great program for everyone interested in natural history and the environment and for lovers of literature and poetry, Learn more in this QATV interview

While involved in a team-taught course on biodiversity at Boston University, Daniel Hudon developed an interest in the biodiversity crisis and this became the focus of his book, “Brief Eulogies for Lost Animals: An Extinction Reader”
