Friends Meeting House –5 Longfellow Park (across from Longfellow House on Brattle Street), Cambridge,

“Open Mic,” will be followed by Mini-Features Poet Blake Campbell, Singer And Activist Susan McLucas, Smedley’s David Rothauser, And Singer/Songwriter Cindy Primett


The “open mic” sign-up before the show will be for roughly five-minute presentations.


Admission is FREE and refreshments provided!

More about “Midnight Voices”


Welcome to all poets, writers, musicians, veterans, supporters, soldiers, free spirits- Midnight Voices is held each third Thursday of month. This month starting with an “open mic” then four mini-features of about ten to fifteen minutes each with an intermission somewhere in between depending on time. We encourage each performer to save a few minutes for audience questions about what they are performing and how the “muse” came to them.


Anybody, performers or audience, who has books, music and such
for sale or for giving away feel free to bring them along as we will have a table set up for that purpose table.


We will finish by about 9:00 PM or so to clean up and chat-All are most welcome..


Poet Blake Campbell


Blake Campbell lives in Boston and works as an editor. His poem “Bioluminescence” won the 2015 Aliki Perroti and Seth Frank Most Promising Young Poet Award from the Academy of American Poets. Singer and long-time political activist Susan McLucas


Susan McLucas is a long-time peace and human rights activist.  She has organized around the Kennedy assassination, drone warfare, whistle blowers (Chelsea Manning and Reality Winner) and Guantanamo and is a member of the Committee for Peace and Human Rights that holds the Saturday vigils at Park Street Station.  She also has a project in Mali to stop female genital mutilation.  For work, she runs the Bicycle Riding School in Davis Square, where, over the years she's taught about 4,000 kids and adults to ride bicycles.  (StopExcision.net, BicycleRidingSchool.org)


Poet, writer, actor and peace activist…David Rothauser


David Rothauser, writer, director, actor, filmmaker U.S. Army vet, Korean War. David began his career as an actor while living in Paris, France. Among his film and television credits are THE LONGEST DAY KENNEDY and SPENSER FOR HIRE. He is the founder of MEMORY PRODUCTIONS, an independent film company which produced his film, THE DIARY OF SACCO AND VANZETTI, broadcast on WGBH-TV, Boston in 2004 and 2005. HIBAKUSHA, OUR LIFE to LIVE, the stories of Hiroshima-Nagasaki survivors, premiered at the United Nations in 2010. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon requested copies for the UN; and,



Folk-singer/songwriter Cindy Primett


Cindy Primett is a member of the legendary Folk Song Society of Greater Boston which was instrumental in helping start the “folk minute” wave that swept the land in the 1960s. She is one of the performers selected to be on the 50th anniversary FSSGB CD. She has performed at open mics, concerts, porch festivals and is a regular attendee at WUMB’s SAM-W (Summer Acoustic Music Week).
