Dear All,
Union member Mayli Shing was fired for reporting sexual harassment and
racial discrimination by her boss at Harvard's University Health Services.
This Friday 10/5, Mayli's allies will demonstrate
<https://www.facebook.com/events/235287847338173/> outside her former
workplace, the Smith Campus Center, 1350 Mass Ave in Cambridge, steps from
the Harvard Square T, starting at 1:30 pm. Please join us!
Harvard's ridiculous excuse for terminating Mayli was that she allegedly
arrived at work 30 minutes before her shift, obviously not even an offense.
The University prevented her from receiving unemployment benefits for
months, and after the MA Division of Unemployment Assistance finally
awarded benefits to Mayli, Harvard appealed and is still trying to claw
back the money that Mayli, a first generation immigrant single mom of two,
urgently needs to live and to support her family.
Please help us send Harvard the message that *retaliation against survivors
of sexual harassment and racial discrimination has to stop! *Press articles
