Come to a community meeting and find out how to Ride the Green Wave!
As heating oil hits $3 a barrel, most of us want to save energy and cut our
utility bills.
Lots of us also want to cut down on asthma, air pollution, and global
warming. So does the city.
The City of Boston hopes to set up a half-billion dollar loan fund for
energy conservation. That could create a green wave of new jobs and energy
savings.
Come to this special community meeting and learn how to "Ride the Green
Wave." Featuring a dynamic presentation by national leader, Van Jones

Van Jones, founder of the Ella Baker Center in Oakland, CA, leads "Green For
All." Their goal is $1 billion for green-collar job training so we can lift
250,000 people out of poverty across the country. In 2007, with a tiny staff
and limited budget, Ella Baker Center and our community of supporters helped
pass the Green Jobs Act in the U.S. House of Representatives, which
authorized $125 million for a federal green job-training program. Jim Hunt,
Boston’s Environment and Energy Department Director, will introduce Van
Jones and speak about how climate change is affecting Boston and what the
City is doing to cut global warming pollution.
