Environment Massachusetts Director]
We've been big a supporter of the Cape Wind project, which could replace three-quarters of the dirty energy currently used by Cape Cod with clean, renewable energy.
On Friday, March 6, Environment Massachusetts, Rep. Frank Smizik and others are sponsoring a reading from a wonderful book on this topic entitled "Cape Wind: Money, Celebrity, Class, Politics, and the Battle for America's Energy Future on Nantucket Sound" by Wendy Williams and Robert Whitcomb.
This event should be a great opportunity to learn more about how we can move Massachusetts toward a clean energy future, meet your representative, and meet other great environmentalists from Brookline.
Here are the details:
Brookline State Representative Frank Smizik Presents a reading from "Cape Wind: Money, Celebrity, Class, Politics, and the Battle for America's Energy Future on Nantucket Sound"
. Featuring authors Wendy Williams and Robert Whitcomb
. March 6th at 5:30pm
. Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, MA
. Discussion to follow
On the book: "When Jim Gordon set out to build a wind farm on Cape Cod, he could not imagine the firestorm that would erupt. Steeped in history and local color, this is also a cautionary tale about how money can hijack democracy while America lags behind the rest of the developed world in adopting clean energy."
Hope to see you there.
