Globalization and New England‹Potential impacts of the Security and
Prosperity Partnership

A talk with Canadian activist Janet Eaton
Monday, March 24, 2008
6:30 p.m.

Boston Public Library, Copley Square, Boston
Mezzanine Conference Room
Free

The Security and Prosperity Partnership is a trade agreement between the US,
Mexico, and Canada that seeks to harmonize existing regulations and
facilitate transportation of goods and resources between the three
countries. But the scope of SPP, the influence of corporations on
negotiations, and the ³behind closed doors² nature of the partnership has
raised questions about who will benefit from this new pact.

Join Janet Eaton, the Sierra Club of Canada's international liaison to the
Sierra Club's corporate accountability committee, for a discussion of the
potential impacts of SPP on New England and Atlantic Canada. What rights
does this project threaten? Are there sustainable, equitable alternatives to
SPP? Sponsored by the Boston/Cambridge Alliance for Democracy. Co-sponsored
by the North Bridge Alliance for Democracy chapter. For information please
email afd at thealliancefordemocracy.org, or call 781-894-1179.
