On Sunday August 3, there will be a pro-war rally against Sudan and  
China in Institute Park in Worcester.  The rally is sponsored by the  
"Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur" which is a frontgroup for  
JCRC (Jewish Community Relations Council), the well-funded most  
vicious Zionist and racist pro-war group in Massachusetts.  The main  
speaker at the rally will be Congressman Jim McGovern.

Jim McGovern has been calling for war against Sudan for several  
years.  BAZA has protested several of McGovern's pro-war speeches and  
appearances at pro-war rallies.  Two BAZA members attempted to listen  
to one of McGovern's speeches at Clark University in 2006.  But while  
we were waiting for the event to start, McGovern allowed Clark  
University police to arrest one of us and kick the other one out for  
being in possession of unauthorized anti-war flyers.  The police  
literally said that we could not be in the room and sit and listen to  
the speech while we had our bag of 50 flyers with us. The prosecution  
eventually agreed to drop the charges when it seemed that a judge  
might grant a defense motion to dismiss or that McGovern might have  
to testify at a trial to explain why it is a crime to disagree with  
him.  The Worcester Telegram & Gazette covered McGovern's speech at  
Clark. McGovern called for an Iraqi-sanctions-style no-fly zone over  
Darfur and for tens of thousands of UN troops to deploy there. When  
an audience member questioned McGovern about his lies about Sudan,  
McGovern cited George Bush and Colin Powell as authorities whose  
accusations against Sudan McGovern agrees with.  See http://

McGovern has also not consistently opposed the war in Iraq. He has  
voted for some of the appropriations bills for the war (See http:// 
www.afterdowningstreet.org/supplemental ) and has disappointed anti- 
war activists by promising to take action regarding the war in Iraq   
and not following through.

McGovern is also a supporter of "Israel".  In 2006,  on July 20  
during the Zionist war of aggression cluster-bombing against Lebanon,  
McGovern voted 'yes' for a US congressional resolution supporting  
"Israel" and supporting "Israel"'s attacks on Lebanon and the Gaza  
Strip.  It is a very heinously worded racist resolution turning facts  
around, demonizing the Palestinian and Lebanese victims, supporting  
the Zionist aggressors, and even demonizing Iran and Syria.  http://

also signed the infamous ad in the Boston Globe supporting the  
Zionists' attack against Lebanon.

This is a very important time to protest to stop the US imperialist  
war against Sudan.  Pro-war organizations are pushing for more US- 
controlled UN troops to be sent to Darfur.  There is already a large  
UN military force there. The US military is providing transportation  
and support.  US-based private military contractors (commonly known  
as mercenaries) from Dyncorp and PAE / Lockheed Martin have been  
attached to the African Union force in Darfur since 2004.   In  
October 2007 the UN awarded a $250 million contract to Lockheed  
Martin to build military bases for the UN military occupation force

  The latest development is that imperialists in control of the  
International Criminal Court are trying to charge Sudanese President  
Bashir with war crimes.  The real war criminals are "Americans" and  
"Israelis" who are engaged in genocidal occupations in Iraq,  
Palestine and Afghanistan.  But even in regards to events in Sudan  
and elsewhere in Africa, the greatest criminals are "Americans".   
Bill Clinton should be charged with war crimes for destroying Sudan's  
only pharmaceutical plant with a missile strike in 1998. This led to  
immense suffering of people dying from diseases for lack of medicine  
and Sudanese livestock dying for lack of veterinary medicine.   
Clinton also armed the SPLA and fomented civil war in southern  
Sudan.  The SPLA killed hundreds of thousands of people.  There are  
millions of southern refugees in Khartoum afraid of the US-backed and  
Israeli-backed SPLA but not afraid of the Sudanese government in  
Khartoum or of President Bashir.   George W Bush continued Clinton's  
policies against Sudan and should be charged too.  US policies of  
these presidents have also killed millions of people in Congo.

An indictment of Bashir would be another step towards an imperialist  
regime change in Sudan.  American and Zionist imperialists seek to  
break Sudan up into several countries with pro-Western governments  
that will allow Sudan's resources (uranium and agricultural resources  
in addition to oil) to be plundered by Western corporations. In the  
short term the indictment might lead to continued war in Darfur and  
elsewhere in Sudan as US-supported rebel groups would back out of  
peace negotiations with the Sudanese government.  See http://

The imperialist attacks against Sudan are taking place in the context  
of the US cold war against China.   Wars against Iraq, Sudan and Iran  
are designed to deprive China of sources of oil and to assure that  
international oil transactions continue to use US dollars.  The  
divestment campaigns against Sudan have really been against Chinese  
oil companies, and are part of an economic war against China.   
McGovern will likely be speaking against China as well.  Recently  
McGovern has falsely accused the Chinese government of oppressing  
Uyghurs in Xinjiang province.  At recent pro-war rallies against  
Sudan  there has been participation of anti-China groups with so- 
called Tibetan flags of the US-backed Dalai Lama.

It can really make a difference if people come out to oppose these  
pro-war rallies and to defend Sudan and China and Palestine and other  
countries from racist imperialist vilification and war and threats of  
war.   So we hope some people will join BAZA's protest in Worcester
