Press Release

Worried about your retirement or buying/selling you house, given the recent financial losses–the worst in our lifetime? Who is responsible? What can be done to restore the nation’s economy and your financial health? Economist Jared Bernstein, fed up with what he calls “Darth Vaders with Ph.D.s”, is nationally known for focusing his economic analysis on the issues that affect the lives of ordinary citizens. He brings this “Economics for the Rest of Us” outlook to a discussion of the impact of the present financial meltdown and Washington’s proposed remedies.

Jared Bernstein is senior economist and director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington DC. He is the author of a previous book, All Together Now: Common Sense for a Fair Economy and co-author of eight editions of The State of Working America. His work is regularly published in The American Prospect, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and the New York Daily News. Bernstein is a featured weekly commentator for a variety of weekly CNBC programs and makes regular appearances on various National Public Radio programs, including Morning Edition and Marketplace.
