Dr. Kamya, Associate Professor of Social Work at Simmons College, will join
us to talk about his work with unaccompanied minors from the Sudan-- young
people who have been both unwilling targets and perpetrators of war. He will
share with us what these young people know about their war-related
experiences, the meanings they make from these experiences, what they learn
about these experiences, and how they integrate and make meaning from these
experiences. Dr. Kamya also will discuss responses to the plight of
unaccompanied youth from Sudan and implications for practitioners,
researchers, policy advocates, and human rights activists.
