Mass Alliance of HUD Tenants is celebrating its 25th anniversary. An active housing
justice group in Boston, MAHT is in its
25thyear of organizing low income tenants of
HUD-assisted buildings in Massachusetts to develop grassroots leaders and save their
homes. MAHT currently has a FT position for a smart, politically progressive,
hard-working person.

The Assistant Director of Development and
Administrationwill support the ED in research and preparation of grants
(an average of four a month); organize and implement two major fundraising
events a year and thus increase individual and corporate donations over time; maintain
membership and donor database; coordinate semi-annual mail appeals; oversee
office management including payroll and vendor payments; assist in creation of
annual budget; assist in monitoring organization budget. Serve as liaison to members,
supporters and
friends of the organization. Maintain
web site; create flyers; create e-newsletters and action alerts.  Communicate with
staff, board and volunteers.

Qualifications
Candidates
must have a commitment to housing justice as well as possessing
the following skills, experience and knowledge:planning, excellent writing skills,
excellent research skills; fundraising
events experience; newsletter production; web site maintenance and e-newsletters.
In
addition, candidates must have experience working in a multi-racial environment
and working with and for low-income residents. Candidates should have some experience
with creating
and/or managing budgets. Some experience in publicity and marketing is
preferred. Bi-lingual skills are preferred
(Spanish/English). Plenty of energy and
a sense of humor are musts.
