On January 1, 1959 Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista fled
the country, marking the victory of the Cuban Revolution, with the July 26th Movement at its head. Join a discussion about: 
 
* Why Washington maintains
its unbroken hostility towards Cuba, and why Cuba's example is more widely discussed today in Latin America from Bolivia to Venezuela.
 
* Cuba’s internationalism --
from military aid to Angola to help defeat an invasion by the apartheid
government, to the presence today of thousands of Cuban doctors in Africa and
Latin America serving in many of the poorest areas.Lessons from the Cuban
revolution for those who want to make revolutionary changes today as workers
and farmers face a worldwide economic crisis of the capitalist system.
