announce that Dr. Oliver Williams,
Director of the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American
Community at the University of Minnesota will headline its June 5 Conference
on Culturally Appropriate Victim Services.
A nationally recognized authority on domestic violence and its impact on
African American communities, Dr. Williams will headline a daylong conference
for victim advocates, social workers, program directors, psychologists and community
based organizations.
Dr. Williams has worked in the field of domestic violence for more than 29
years.He has worked in battered women's shelters, developed curricula for
batterers intervention programs and facilitated counseling groups in these
programs. He has provided training across the United States and abroad on
research and service-delivery surrounding partner abuse.  Please read his

information and in-depth discussion addressing the needs of
communities of color and the ways in which domestic violence advocates and
service providers can best respond.
