The Militant Labor Forum presents a film showing:

(The Trial: The Untold Story of the Cuban 5) 
 
Friday, Setember 11, 7:30 pm 
 
         This 50-minute documentary made in 2006 by Cuban filmmaker Rolando Almirante tells the story of the Cuban Five - Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, and René González - five Cuban nationals serving draconian sentences in US prisons on framed up charges of conspiracy. The five had been monitoring the actions of right-wing Cuban American groups that have carried out murderous bombings and other armed attacks against Cuba . 
         The documentary explores the U.S. government's use of false conspiracy charges and secret evidence which laid the basis for their conviction. It features revealing interviews with defense and prosecuting attorneys, Cuban and U.S. experts, and advocates for the Five's freedom.
         September 12 marks the 11th year of their incarceration. Following the film will be a discussion of the current stage of the legal fight as well as the stakes working people in the US have in their fight.
