John Lugo is an organizer with Unidad Latina en Acción, an immigrant rights group in New Haven, CT. He has been part of organizing many demonstrations for immigrant rights, including May Day demonstrations of thousands of people. Lugo was extremely active in getting the New Haven Resident Identification Card approved in the city. He has been involved in many struggles for immigrant and worker rights in the region.

He was a primary organizer of the August 15th, 2009 demonstration against racial profiling in East Haven, CT that resulted in the police chief being suspended.
