Starting today, Thursday, June 3rd through Thursday, June 10th, coordinated actions will take place across the country to demand: Seize BP! Demonstrations will be taking place in more than 50 cities as part of a growing, national campaign to protest the mounting economic and environmental damage from BP's offshore oil drilling and to demand that BP's assets be immediately seized and put in trust to pay for compensation and damages.

In Boston, A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition organizers will be organizing a visibility action on Friday, June 4th at Park St. T station, starting at 5:00 PM. We will have hundreds of leaflets, campaign petitions, sound and signs. Please join us in raising awareness about this crucial campaign and in making our voices be heard!

For more information on the "Seize BP campaign", BP's criminal actions and how you can take action today, please read this important new message sent from the Seize BP campaign:

The Seize BP! Campaign is garnering media attention nationwide! This morning, CNN featured the Seize BP Week of Action on television. "We know millions of people are deeply concerned about what's going on in the Gulf right now, and we expect large numbers of people to come out to the protests," a Seize BP organizer told CNN.

The response to the call to action has been amazing. People across the country are mobilizing to take to the streets over the next seven days and demand: Seize BP! It
is now clear that BP is incapable of solving the crisis, and oil will continue to gush until at least August. BP and the government are stalling, but the people of the Gulf coast and the environment can't wait. The time to take action is now.

Today, demonstrations will take place in Washington, D.C., Chicago and New
York. Since yesterday alone, several new demonstrations have been announced, including Atlanta, Ga.; Tampa, Fla.; Irving, Texas; St. Joseph, Michigan; and Front Royal and Virginia Beach, Va. Many more are planned for the week ahead.

Be a part of this movement and help it grow! A partial list of recently announced
actions can be found below, and a list that is being frequently updated can be found here. If you are organizing an activity in your area, or if you know of one that's being organized be sure to click here and let us know so that we can post it to the website:
