Schmooze<http://robbiesamuels.blogspot.com/2010/09/921-training-art-of-schmooze.html>
This
has become my signature training and helped hundreds of people each year
gain the confidence they need to *pursue their personal goals* - from the
importance of shaking hands and making eye contact to tips on the best
opening line (hint, it's the name of this blog) and how to exit a
conversation gracefully.

An amazing side benefit is that every attendee also walks away with their
consciousness raised about what it means to create a *welcoming community
space*. We'll discuss the difference between being a guest and host,
keeping an eye out for outliers and the importance of not "othering" while
trying to pay a compliment.

Included in the fee, attendees receive a handout that will make it easy for
them to share these tips with their colleagues and friends.

Often this workshop is scheduled by organizations for their staff and/or
board and not made open to the public. Take advantage of my next scheduled
session of the *Art of the Schmooze on Tuesday, September 21st, hosted by
the Nonprofit Connector Meetup Group*. It's open to the public and only $10
per person (regularly $50). *RSVP to reserve your
spot*<http://www.meetup.com/nonprofit-136/calendar/14700886/>

*A highly interactive session focused on increasing networking skills!*

Do you feel awkward at networking events and uncomfortable making new
connections? Do you miss opportunities to connect with new donors, community
members and colleagues because you don't know the best way to approach them
at events? Do you have trouble ending conversations so you can keep
circulating? We will cover the basics of how to work a room, from having the
right tools to knowing the best approach to engage prospective donors and
collaborators while cultivating community support.

This interactive, fast-paced and fun 90 minute session will be beneficial
for seasoned fundraising professionals, non-profit board members, grassroots
organizers and anyone interested in creating welcoming community spaces.

I had the good fortune to participate in Robbie Samuels' Art of the Schmooze
workshop recently. What a treat! Robbie is an engaging and skillful
presenter. He provided great information illustrated with entertaining
stories about applying them and provided meaningful ways for us to practice
these new skills. Robbie is one part expert and one part entertainer. That
is the recipe for a winning presenter and Robbie is exactly that. Planning
an event? Want your team to be ready to win the guests? Prep with Robbie!
You will be so glad you did!
