Two items below: we are looking for new members & organizations to work with
- please contact us!
1. Haiti Strategy Meeting Tuesday! (Planning a teach-in)
Tuesday Nov. 2, 6:30 pm; FXB G-12, Harvard School of Public Health

At Tuesday's Unity Ayiti meeting we'll have a guest from Physicians for
Haiti, who has a great deal of experience with local and national mobilizing
for global health and justice issues. We will be thinking through the
process of organizing for Haiti in a strategic way, planning for a teach-in
to be held November 12 (ten months after the earthquake). New people and
new ideas always welcome!

Email dpanchang at gmail.com if you can't make the meeting but would like to be
involved!

2. Teach-In November 12: Haiti 10 months on
Speakers, film clips, & discussion on the major questions affecting Haiti
today. Despite the earthquake, cholera, and hurricanes, why is aid money
still held up? What do Haitians see as a vision for their future? How can
we support them?

*4-7 pm, November 12 at Encuentro 5 *

If your group is interested in co-organizing or helping with the event,
please contact us!

*Unity Ayiti is a new group of Boston students & residents working to
support self-determination and human rights for the Haitian people. We aim
to raise public awareness about the structural factors that have made Haiti
vulnerable, to hold foreign governments and the UN accountable for the
policies undertaken towards Haiti, and to support grassroots Haitian efforts
and their inclusion in all levels of earthquake response. We also hope to
act as a connector for people interested in Haiti to learn about meaningful
ways to contribute and to act in solidarity. http://www.unity-ayity.info/ *
