"This film will single-handedly change how many people view the conflict.
It's that good, and that important." - The Boston Globe

"The must-see documentary of the year." - Nicholas Kristof, The New York
Times

BUDRUS, a multi-award-winning feature documentary that captures peaceful
change in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, opens December 3 at the Coolidge
Corner Theatre in Brookline. The film is a behind-the-scenes account of
Palestinian community organizer, Ayed Morrar, as he unites local Fatah and
Hamas members along with Israeli supporters in an unarmed effort to save his
village of Budrus from destruction by Israel's Separation Barrier. Victory
seems improbable until Morrar's 15-year-old daughter, Iltezam, launches a
women's contingent that quickly moves to the front lines. Struggling side by
side, father and daughter unleash an inspiring, yet little-known, movement
in the Occupied Palestinian Territories that is still gaining ground today.
Chronicling this movement from its infancy, BUDRUS shines a light on people
who choose nonviolence to confront a threat. The movie is directed by
filmmaker Julia Bacha (co-writer and editor of Control Room and co-director
of Encounter Point), and produced by Bacha, Palestinian journalist Rula
Salameh, and filmmaker and human rights advocate Ronit Avni (director of
Encounter Point, executive director of Just Vision, a nonprofit that
researches, documents and creates media about Palestinian and Israeli
grassroots peace activists, and formerly of WITNESS).

The filmmakers will introduce the film and conduct Q&A at the following
shows:

Friday, 12/3 at 7:15pm and 9:30pm (Ronit Avni)

Saturday, 12/4 at 7:15pm and 9:30pm (Ronit Avni)

Sunday, 12/5 at 2:45pm and 5:00pm (Julia Bacha and Ronit Avni)
