THE COMMUNITY CHURCH OF BOSTON
SUNDAY SPEAKERS FORUM presents...

Rev. JASON LYDON
"Why We Still Honor Black History Month"
Black History Month started as Black History Week in 1926 by Dr. Carter G.
Woodson and was extended to a whole month in 1976. There are those who
suggest Black history should be mainstream enough to be part of every day
and thus Black History Month is redundant. There are those who suggest that
February is the shortest, coldest month of the year and hardly the right
month to be celebrating Black history. Jason will explore with us the
possibilities available in honoring Black history month and the
responsibility and accountability white people have to listen and learn as
we all struggle together to end white supremacy.
Rev. Jason Lydon is the minister at the Community Church of Boston.
