The 14th Annual Homelessness Marathon will take place from 7 PM
Wednesday, Feb. 23, through 9 AM Thursday, Feb. 24. Broadcast on more
than 100 radio stations across the country, as well as Free Speech TV,
the program will be aired locally on WMBR (at 88.1 FM or wmbr.org).

Before the Marathon, from 6:00-7:00 PM this Wednesday, WMBR will present
a special one-hour program on homelessness in the Boston area, produced
by WMBR News Reporter David Goodman.

The Homelessness Marathon is a unique 14-hour broadcast featuring the
voices and stories of homeless people from around the United States. The
program features live call-ins as well as nationally-recognized experts
on housing and poverty. Each hour of the program focuses on a different
facet of the problem. The Marathon does not raise money -- it raises
consciousness about the causes and conditions of homelessness. This
year's Marathon will originate from an outdoor broadcast booth in Kansas
City.

There are two call-in numbers for the Marathon:
 - Anyone, housed or homeless, can call 877-NOBODY-8 (877-662-6398).
 - If you are homeless, formerly homeless, or afraid you're about to be
homeless, you can also call 866-LEFT-OUT (866-533-8688).
