Protest/Picket Against U.S. Attacks on Libya

Monday, June 27, 2011, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

Outside Senator John Kerry's Office

One Bowdoin Square (Next to JFK Building), Boston, MA

On March 19, 2011, exactly eight years after the U.S. government launched
the invasion of Iraq, the U.S. led an unprovoked attack on the sovereign
country of Libya. Many civilian deaths have resulted, the infrastructure of
Libya has been severely damaged and over 500,000 migrant workers from
northern Africa and around the world have been forced to flee the country.
This military assault on Libya continues to this day, now being carried out
through NATO which is a U.S. led alliance. (The British newspaper the Daily
Mail estimates that the war is currently costing U.S. taxpayers $2
million/day.) This military attack has nothing to do with "saving lives" and
everything to do with control of the oil, gas and other resources of
Northern Africa and the Middle East to benefit the U.S. rich!!

Massachusetts Democratic Senator John Kerry has co-authored, along with
Republican Senator John McCain, a resolution introduced in the U.S. Senate
supporting the U.S. role in this military attack.. A new CBS poll
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20070187-503544.html reported that
60% of the U.S. population believe that the U.S. "should not be involved" in
Libya. Let's tell Senator Kerry that we stand with the millions here in the
U.S. who oppose this war and with the Libyan people who are suffering the
tragic consequences.

STOP THE U.S. ATTACKS ON LIBYA!!

BRING THE WAR DOLLARS HOME NOW!!!
