In the past several years, women in this country have faced an 
unprecedented number of legislative and ideological attacks. From 
restrictions on a woman’s access to a safe and legal abortion, to 
legislative precedents that challenge a woman’s judgement about 
workplace discrimination or rape, the character and very presence of 
these attacks has disrupted the idea that given enough time, things will continue to get better for women. In fact, the worsening of conditions 
for women in this country point to a larger truth: that the system we 
live in not only contains but relies on sexism and the oppression of 
women in their daily lives. Come discuss the newest wave of the women’s 
rights movement and a socialist vision for women’s liberation.
