Locals Picket Target Over Use of “Rape Factories”

The organizers of the Boston Slutwalk and locals in the Boston area will be
convening at the Target in Andrews Square on August 24th , 2011 at noon to
protest Targets use of factories that use rape and violence to coerce its
female workers.

Last month, news broke that a garment factory used by big name American
retailer, Target, use rape and physical abuse to force its female workers to
work in inhumane conditions, for 13 hours a day and for very little
pay.  Classic
Factory, the company responsible for this injustice, produces many clothes
that are then sold at Target.

The protesters will be giving Target a list of demands that ask them to stop
enabling factories such as this and to raise its standards on how the
workers making their garments are treated.
