An event for the
Socialist Workers Party fund drive
Spreading Ties of Solidarity, Preparing for the
Working-Class Battles to Come
There is
growing resistance today by working people, students, and others to the drive
by the capitalist class and their government to make us pay for their economic
crisis.
Workers
are fighting union busting from Minnesota and North Dakota in their battle
against American Crystal Sugar, to Steelworkers fighting Armstrong World
Industries in Pennsylvania, to International Longshore and Warehouse Union
members in Washington state in their battle with EGT grain terminal bosses at
the Port of Longview.
Thousands have taken part in activities around the
Occupy Wall Street protests in Boston, across the country, and around the
world.
Union
fighters and others are open to discussing broader questions raised in these
struggles.  What caused the economic
crisis – Wall Street or the capitalist system?  What kind of movement is needed to win today?  Is it possible for working people to take power out of the hands
of the capitalist rulers and reorganize society based on solidarity instead of
profit?
Join the discussion at this program to benefit the
$100,000 Socialist Workers Party fund drive.
Speaker:  Chris Hoeppner– Hoeppner was the Socialist
Workers Party candidate in the September 13 election for the 9th Congressional District special election in New York.
