       *Take Action on Monday!*
*Join us on Halloween evening on the sidewalk of the new Whole Foods store
to send a message:* "Whole Foods: Don't Be a Scary Neighbor"! We'll be
holding signs to send a strong message that we are still concerned about
the negative impact of this store on our neighborhood, and disappointed
with Whole Foods' resistance to negotiate a reasonable Community Benefits
Agreement to address these concerns.

*Take a "photo-petition" with CEO **John Mackey corporate vampire
puppet!* We'll
deliver all of the pictures to Whole Foods management, help us take
hundreds! If you're trick-or-treating, stop by with your little ghouls for
some treats! If you're joining the Halloween Bike Ride at 8pm, join us at
7:30pm for a group picture!

*October 31, 5-8pm*

Background The JP Whole Foods store is set to open its door very soon, but
they still have not committed to a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) with
Jamaica Plain! Sign on to our CBA statement
here<http://whosefoods.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=5968da24b88874ba76871f03b&id=5acd8f2cd4&e=577b274f0b>.
A CBA would be negotiated by the JP Neighborhood Council, a coalition of
community organizations, and experienced negotiators. Such an agreement
could result in 1% of Whole Food's annual revenue being returned to the
community to *fight housing displacement*. *It could call for living wages
for their non-union employees, support for youth programs and local
businesses, and a published traffic study.*

The scariest thing in JP this Halloween season is the thought of a
corporate vampire moving into our neighborhood against the will of
thousands of residents, resulting in the displacement of many our neighbors,
* without them conceding to any of our Neighborhood Coucil's reasonable
requests!* (Read the story here:
